I finished these while I was on tour.
Dear Shane, I Tried To Kill Myself, by Jazz McGinnis
This was my favorite of the three zines, although it’s not really fair to compare them. Basically, Dear Shane deals with issues of depression and suicidal tendencies. While there are many triggers within, this zine is one of the most honest accounts of depression I have read, confronting many different stages not often found in depression narratives. You can get a copy of this zine for around 5 bucks from a bunch of places online. I highly, highly, highly recommend it.
Publick Occurances #13, by Danny Martin
In this issue, Danny Martin draws strangely accurate drawings of punks in the 80s. It’s a nice, quick little zine full of cool art.
Suicide or Die #1, by Shannon Meyer
Suicide or Die is a collection of historical suicides, whether ritualistic, personal, political or otherwise. It’s a really interesting zine, as it takes suicide in a more historical and factual context than most other zines. Definitely worth the read.8
