Even though I have to be up for work in just a few hours, I stayed up and read these zines instead of going to bed.  Oops?
The La-La Theory #5, by Katie Haegele and They Will Stand on You and Spit, by Adam Gnade and Bart Schaneman
I picked up this issue of The La-La Theory because I really enjoyed Katie’s book White Elephants, and I had never read any of her other writings.  This was a fun little zine about the origin of words.  I’m a word nerd, so I was pretty into it.
They Will Stand on You and Spit is a split zine by Adam Gnade and Bart Schaneman.  Adam’s contributions come in the form of excerpts from his novella California, while Bart’s are primarily poems.  This was a good, quick little read.  Not my favorite work from either writer, but still solid nonetheless.
